Steven G. Blum

Steven G. BlumSteven Blum is the founder of Steven G. Blum and Associates, LLC. It is Steve’s vision of professionalism and ethics, as well as his perspective on the importance of economic science, which guides the firm’s mission.

Steve earned his BA from Wesleyan University and his Juris Doctor from the Northeastern University School of Law. He also holds a Masters Degree in Education from Harvard University and a Masters Degree in Law and Taxation from New York University. Steve is a sought after expert and lecturer on various topics within wealth management. He is also a leading thinker in the area of professionalism and wealth management, and the importance of professional culture to clients. The topics of Steve’s lectures and writings include professionalism, variable annuities, equity index annuities, negotiation, fiduciary duty, and economic theory. Steve has spoken before various groups including the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), Pennsylvania Bar Institute, American Association of Medical Colleges, Citigroup, and DuPont, as well as various corporations, schools, and associations.

Steve has taught at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania for sixteen years. He has also been a visiting professor at the ALBA Graduate Business School in Athens, Greece. He has won the Wharton School’s William G. Whitney Award for outstanding teaching three times. In addition to this, Steve has written several articles on various wealth management topics. His book on the subject of wealth management and economics is expected to be published in 2010.

Steve is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar, the New Hampshire Bar, and the District of Columbia Bar. Steve is married and has two children.
